Rep. Mark Gillen has announced the allocation of over $825,000 in state funding for community improvements within the 128th Legislative District. Gillen was instrumental in securing these Local Share Account (LSA) grants for various projects.
“These grants play a significant role in helping to provide the necessary equipment to maintain functional systems and services for our communities and their residents,” stated Gillen. “I was happy to advocate for approval of the grant applications for these projects.”
The approved local grants include several allocations: Amity Township will receive $169,735 to purchase equipment for maintaining its sewer system. Birdsboro Borough is set to benefit from multiple grants, including $153,930 for repairing the East First Street bridge, $114,176 for acquiring a dump truck, $26,846 for outdoor workout stations, $285,000 for a street sweeping vehicle, and $75,708 towards a new maintenance truck for the Public Works Department.
These grants were sanctioned by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. This independent agency manages fiduciary responsibilities concerning program funding and investments aimed at fostering economic growth in Pennsylvania. The LSA grants are funded through gaming revenues.
