Rep. Jamie Barton announced that fire and ambulance companies in the 124th Legislative District are set to receive over $423,000 in state grants. This funding aims to bolster their public safety efforts.
"Keeping my community and constituents safe is my number one priority," Barton stated. He emphasized the importance of supporting firefighters and emergency medical services workers to ensure community well-being.
The grant program, established by the Legislature, is managed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). It supports various projects, including facility construction or renovation, equipment purchase or repair, training, or debt reduction.
Eligible companies that apply and meet OSFC requirements will receive funding upon filing a grant agreement with OSFC.
The grants have been allocated as follows: American Hose Company No. 1 received $15,000; Auburn Fire Company got $12,018.46; Auburn Fire Company Ambulance Service was awarded $15,000; Citizens Fire Company No. 1 received $12,018.46; Coaldale Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 got $14,385.41; Community Fire Company New Ringgold was given $12,663.99; Community Fire Company No. 1 of Landingville received $12,448.81; Deer Lake and West Brunswick Fire Company No. 1 was granted $14,385.41; Delano Fire Company No. 1 got $12,448.81; East End Fire Company received $12,233.63; Friendship Hose Company No. 1 was awarded $14,170.24; Hamburg Emergency Medical Services obtained $15,000; Hamburg Volunteer Forest Fire Crew Inc got $12,233.63; Hometown Fire Company No. 1 was given $24,448.81; Kempton Fire Company received $15,891.66; Kutztown Fire and Rescue got $16,106.84; Mary D Fire Company was awarded $24,663.99; New England Fire Company No. 1 obtained $14,385.41; No. 1 Emergency and Rescue Squad received $12,879.17; Penn Mahoning Ambulance Association was granted $15,000; Port Clinton Fire Company got $12,018.46; Ryan Township Emergency and Rescue Squad received $15,000; Ryan Township Fire Company obtained $16,322.02; South Ward Fire Company was awarded $14,385.41; Strausstown Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 got $13,309.52; Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association received a grant of $15 000 as well as Tuscarora Fire Company for $13 309 .52 ; Union Fire Company No .1 of Hamburg got a fund amounting to approximately fourteen thousand dollars while West Penn's first company closed this list with about twelve hundred forty-eight bucks each - almost all figures rounded up precisely but still worthy enough being acknowledged here today!
