FOIA Request to Berks County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Berks County News have submitted a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law. The requested information pertains to the candidates running in the upcoming election.
Specifically, we have asked for a list of all candidates, including their first, middle, and last names. Additionally, we have requested details about the office they are running for and its jurisdiction, as well as their party affiliation.
To ensure transparency and accountability in our reporting, we have also requested contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
