Today, Congressman Dan Meuser of Pennsylvania's 9th District expressed his support for Chairman Jim Jordan as the next Speaker of the House. Meuser shared his perspective following the removal of Kevin McCarthy from the position.

Meuser stated, “Although most of us disapproved of the unprecedented, and frankly unwarranted, removal of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, we must now elect a new Speaker." He highlighted Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise as leading candidates for the role. "Both Steve and Jim are outstanding Members of the House and great people. Both are patriots and men of honor."

Meuser outlined his priorities moving forward with a new leadership team in place. These include passing a fiscally responsible budget, curbing excessive spending, advocating for American energy independence through H.R. 1, securing borders with immigration reform policies, initiating impeachment proceedings against Secretary Mayorkas for not enforcing immigration laws effectively, prosecuting corruption including alleged Biden scandals, and regaining trust among American voters.

Meuser emphasized that achieving these goals requires strong leadership. "The only way to achieve our goals of strengthening American national security and economic growth is by winning in 2024," he said. "Our next Speaker and Majority leader will play a key role in setting this policy course and in uniting us."

He concluded by endorsing Jim Jordan as Speaker and Steve Scalise as Majority Leader: "These two men embody the leadership qualities that are essential to moving our party and nation forward.”
