Congressman Dan Meuser is urging high school seniors to apply for a congressional nomination to U.S. service academies before the November 1 deadline. "It takes an exceptional individual to choose a career path dedicated to service and one’s country," said Rep. Dan Meuser. He emphasized the honor of nominating outstanding students from Pennsylvania's Ninth District each year, commending their dedication both academically and beyond.
The application process for nominations is open until November 1, 2023. Congressman Meuser can nominate candidates to four U.S. service academies: the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination.
Due to numerous qualified applicants, Congressman Meuser conducts a competitive selection process that includes interviews with him and his Academy Nomination Board, which comprises academy representatives, military veterans, and community leaders.
