Today, Congressman Dan Meuser from Pennsylvania's 9th District expressed his support for Steve Scalise as the next Speaker of the House. This comes after the House Republican Conference voted to nominate Scalise for the position. Initially, Meuser supported Jim Jordan for Speaker and Scalise as Majority Leader, but he has now aligned with the Conference's decision.

Meuser stated, "Steve Scalise and Jim Jordan are both great Americans. I’ve been supportive of Jim Jordan as our next Speaker and Scalise as Majority Leader – great team! Now, after a Conference vote and Jim Jordan agreeing to nominate and support Steve Scalise as Speaker, I will also be supporting Steve Scalise as our next Speaker."

The Congressman outlined his criteria for supporting a candidate for Speaker. These include passing a fiscally responsible budget that promotes growth, stopping excessive spending by addressing waste, abuse, and fraud in federal spending, advocating for American energy independence through H.R. 1, securing the border with immigration reform policies including impeaching Secretary Mayorkas over enforcement issues, prosecuting corruption including what he refers to as "Biden scandals," and gaining trust among American voters to expand Republican majorities in Congress.

Meuser emphasized that these priorities are essential for achieving legislative success and electoral victories in upcoming elections.
