State Rep. David Maloney | Pennsylvania 130th Legislative District
Rep. David Maloney from Berks County expressed his full support for a proposal by House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler of Lancaster. The proposal, introduced on Friday, aims to establish a House Select Committee to investigate the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on July 13.
Maloney praised the actions of first responders during the incident. "As the author of Pennsylvania’s First Responder Day law, I have great confidence in our law enforcement, EMS and volunteer first responders," he stated. He commended those who responded quickly and alerted federal authorities about the shooter. Maloney also acknowledged the tragic loss of a volunteer firefighter who died while protecting his family.
Additionally, Maloney volunteered to serve on the select committee if House Resolution 501 is passed. His previous measure, signed into law on November 17, 2021, established September 27 as First Responders Day in Pennsylvania.
