Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced the winners of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition today. The artwork of the first-place winner will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year, along with other winners from across the nation. The pieces by students who secured second and third places will be exhibited in Congressman Meuser’s District offices.
The winners of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition are as follows:
First Place: 'Operation Desert Shield' by Kaylee Meeker from Northwest Area School District
Second Place: 'Heart' by Heidi Stone from Schuylkill Haven Area School District
Third Place: 'Freedom' by Lily Troutman from Tulpehocken High School
“Congratulations, Kaylee, on your winning entry – your attention to detail is truly remarkable,” said Congressman Meuser. “From achieving third place last year to claiming first place this year, you should feel immensely proud. I’m pleased that your artwork will be showcased in the halls of the U.S. Capitol for the next year, offering visitors, staff, and Members of Congress the opportunity to appreciate your talent. Competitions like this are a wonderful way to highlight the artistic talents of students across Pennsylvania’s Ninth District. I applaud the efforts of all the young artists who participated in this year's contest, including our second and third place winners, Heidi Stone, and Lily Troutman. Everyone should be very proud of their submissions.”
