Cumru Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.
As part of our district’s COVID-19 communication plan, we are making you aware of an important update to our Transition Forward protocols.
Beginning Monday, July 19, 2021 and in accordance with an updated CDC federal order, face coverings will be required on public transportation, regardless of vaccination status. This federal order includes school buses operated by public and private school systems. Therefore, effective July 19, 2021, all Governor Mifflin bus drivers, aides, and students will be required to wear a face covering when riding in Governor Mifflin School District transportation vehicles. The only exception will be when drivers are the only person in the bus/vehicle, they do not need to wear a face covering. If your child does not have a face covering, we will have extra available.
As explained in our protocols for moving forward, we will be updating our mitigation strategies as conditions, guidelines, and federal requirements change due to COVID-19. The most up-to-date district protocols will remain on our website and can be viewed at any time at www.governormifflinsd.org/covid-19.
We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding as we work within the guidelines provided to offer ongoing summer programming and transportation to serve our students, and as we look forward to our return to school in the fall.
Sincerely,
Bill McKay
Superintendent
Governor Mifflin School District
