The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Recreation and Conservation has awarded grants through its Community Conservation Partnerships Program to Washington Township and Fleetwood Borough. These grants aim to support local governments and organizations in projects related to parks, recreation, and conservation.

Representative David Maloney expressed his satisfaction with the funding for two significant projects in the 130th District. "I am pleased to announce funding for revamping the Barto Community Park and the Fleetwood Community Pool," Maloney stated. He emphasized that these projects would enhance recreational opportunities in their respective municipalities.

Washington Township received $26,000 to develop a master site plan for the 19-acre Barto Community Park. The project will include an electronic written report and site development drawings. Meanwhile, Fleetwood Borough was granted $249,800 for rehabilitating the Fleetwood Community Pool. This project will involve renovating the comfort station, installing fencing, ensuring ADA access, landscaping, placing a project sign, and other related site improvements.
