Rep. Jamie Barton has announced the allocation of $250,000 in state funding to enhance the Hamburg Community Pool. The funds are part of the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenway, Trails and Recreation Program, which supports projects related to greenways, trails, open spaces, and parks.

Barton emphasized the pool's significance: “Thousands of people use Hamburg’s community pool to cool off in the hot summer months.” He also highlighted its location within Etchberger Memorial Park, which connects to both the Schuylkill River Trail and the Appalachian Trail. This makes it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

The allocated money will be used for replastering the pool, ensuring continued enjoyment for both residents and visitors. Barton expressed optimism about maintaining this recreational resource for future use.
