FOIA Request to Heidelberg Township Police Regarding Pension Rosters on September 20, 2024.

As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Berks County News have submitted a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law. The request is specifically aimed at obtaining information about the pension fund of the Heidelberg Township Police for the year of 2023.

The data fields requested include the list of all active employees and retired employees within the organization's pension fund. The specific details sought are last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, employer name, employment start date, employment end date, salary, compensation type, amount, year, process date, last disbursement amount, disbursement frequency and the contribution amount for 2023.

Access to public records is essential for us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
