The Lebanon City Post Office is set to be renamed in honor of the late police Lt. William Lebo, following the signing of a resolution by President Joe Biden. The president signed House Resolution 3865 on May 7, which will see the post office at 101 South 8th St. bear the name "Lieutenant William D. Lebo Post Office Building.”
Lt. Lebo was tragically killed in the line of duty on March 31, 2022. U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser, who introduced the bill, lauded Lt. Lebo's four decades of service as evidence of his deep commitment to the city of Lebanon.
"Renaming the post office in (Lebo's) beloved hometown will serve as a lasting tribute to his extraordinary life and legacy of service," Meuser said in a release. "This legislation was a small gesture compared to the enormity of Lt. Lebo’s contributions to his community. I thank my colleagues in the House and Senate for unanimously supporting this effort. Together, we honor the memory of a dedicated public servant whose indelible mark on the Lebanon community will be remembered for generations to come.”
