WASHINGTON — On May 24, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced the winners of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition. The first-place winner’s artwork will hang in the United States Capitol for one year, along with other winners from across the country. The students who placed second and third will have their artwork displayed in Congressman Meuser’s District offices.
2023 Congressional Art Competition Winners:
First Place:Majestic by Kasie Troch from Blue Mountain High School
Second Place:Anne Frank by Alexei Armusik from PA Cyber Charter School
Third Place:Wolfhound Phantoms of Vietnam by Kaylee Meeker from Northwest Area School District
“I was impressed with the incredible detail of Kasie’s work and am happy that her painting will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year,” Meuser said. “Competitions like this are a wonderful way to highlight the artistic talents of students across Pennsylvania’s Ninth District. I applaud the efforts of all the young artists who entered this year’s contest. Everyone should be very proud of their submissions.”

The Office of Congressman Meuser hosted an art show at the Walk In Art Center in Schuylkill Haven on May 3, 2023. Nineteen students from seventeen various schools across Pennsylvania’s Ninth District participated in the event.
