Cornwall Terrace Elementary School issued the following announcement on Oct. 18.
Four Diamonds Mini-THON® is a K-12 opportunity for students to be empowered as leaders in the fight to conquer childhood cancer. Students gain work ready skills in communication, critical thinking and problem solving, while promoting teamwork, creativity and spirit within their schools.
As a year-long fundraising effort, Mini-THON® is an excellent way for students to get involved in philanthropy and engage their school and local community. This effort culminates with a multi-hour, fun-filled event involving games, music, dancing, activities and more!
Mini-THONs are modeled after the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THONTM) and have been making a difference in the lives of kids and families fighting pediatric cancer. With more than 90,000 student volunteers in 294 schools, Mini-THONs are bringing hope to families in need and giving back to their community. During the 2019-2020 school year, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and colleges raised more than $5.7 million for Four Diamonds. See how dollars raised by Mini-THON are making a difference in the lives of children fighting cancer by providing world-class medical care and life-saving research.
Wilson High School students run a Mini-THON each year to support this worthy cause. Check out the events below, and keep your eyes peeled for new events to be added:
