Cost of college went up for all students at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania

In-state tuition and fees rose 8.2 percent for 2018-19 at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $10,802 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $815 more than the $9,987 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 109.5 percent more than residents this year, or $22,626. Their price tag grew 61.9 percent from $13,975 in 2017-18.

About 84 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents. About 15 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,237 students received grants or scholarships totaling $6.1 million and 1,275 students took out student loans totaling more than $9.6 million.

Including all undergraduates (8,290), 4,628 students used grants or scholarships totaling $27.7 million, and 5,425 students took out $36.9 million in federal student loans.
