The next stop of the statewide Sportsmen’s Listening Tour is set for March 12 at the Sigel Sportsmen’s Club in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. Representative David Maloney announced this second meeting as part of an ongoing effort to gather grassroots insights from sportsmen across the state.
The first meeting took place on February 27 in Lancaster County, where Maloney described it as a productive exchange. “We had our first meeting on Feb. 27 in Lancaster County at Yoder’s in New Holland, and it was good exchange of information and there were questions and incidents that, frankly, were not on my radar, and that is what I envisioned these meetings to be,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of informed citizens taking a stand on issues rather than remaining passive. “When folks have good information, they are empowered to take a stand on issues where in the past they may have just acquiesced. We have been told that even complaints and concerns by this agency’s own employees go unanswered.”
State Representatives Dave Zimmerman, Brian Smith, and Eric Davanzo were present at the New Holland meeting.
Maloney's tour aims to understand the real concerns of Pennsylvania's sportsmen—hunters, anglers, and trappers—and address them effectively.
