Today, Congressman Dan Meuser of Pennsylvania's 9th District announced a significant change in his Washington, D.C. office. Tim Costa, who has served as Chief of Staff since January 2023, is stepping down to pursue an opportunity in the private sector. Despite leaving his official role, Costa will continue to be involved as a political advisor.
Costa is recognized on Capitol Hill for his expertise in legislative processes and leadership skills. He has been instrumental in promoting Congressman Meuser's legislative goals and ensuring efficient office operations. "Tim Costa has been a vital member of my team and a trusted advisor whose sound judgment and steady leadership have made a lasting difference," said Congressman Meuser. "He is well-respected on and off the Hill and has been instrumental in shaping our office’s work, particularly on the Financial Services Committee."
Taking over as Chief of Staff is Matthew Perricone, who has been with Meuser's team since the congressman's first term. Perricone was previously the Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff. In his new position, he will manage both district and D.C. offices along with the legislative agenda. "I have full confidence in Matthew Perricone as he steps into the role of Chief of Staff," Meuser stated. "Over many years, Matt has demonstrated strong leadership, a deep understanding of our district, and a relentless work ethic."
Perricone joined Congressman Meuser’s office in 2019 and has held various roles including Staff Assistant, Legislative Correspondent, Press Secretary, Legislative Assistant, Senior Legislative Assistant before becoming Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff. Originally from New Jersey, Perricone earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Catholic University of America.
