State Representative Mark Gillen has announced the allocation of $750,000 in state grant funding for transportation and infrastructure projects within Berks County's 128th District. The funds aim to enhance the region's infrastructure and stimulate economic development.
“This funding is an investment in the long-term success of our region’s infrastructure and economic development,” said Gillen. “Strengthening our transportation network will encourage job creation and support local businesses that rely on these improvements.”
The distribution of funds includes $500,000 awarded to PDC Northeast LPIV, LLC for transportation improvements at the Southern Berks Industrial Park in New Morgan Borough. Additionally, ReFined Plastics, LLC will receive $250,000 to complete Phase 2 renovations of the Titus Station Rail Line in Cumru Township.
These grants are part of the Multimodal Transportation Fund, which supports economic development by ensuring a safe and reliable transportation system for Pennsylvania residents. The fund assists with developing, rehabilitating, and enhancing transportation assets within communities.
