Rep. Mark Gillen has announced that the Wyomissing Public Works and Safety Facility project will receive $1 million in state grant funding. The funding comes from Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).

"I am pleased to see this project get the funding needed to enhance the safety facility, which will allow it to better serve our community and its residents," said Gillen.

The project plans include a 265 square-foot locker room expansion, office renovations to incorporate a large break room, and enclosing part of the drive-thru area for conference and storage purposes. Additional overhead doors for vehicle service bays are also planned. A parking garage is set to be constructed on an empty field in the borough, with potential additions such as a truck wash bay building and secure police storage.

The RACP aims to support critical expansion projects by providing opportunities for employment training, job creation, and community services across Pennsylvania.
