After Pennsylvania's governor presented the annual budget address to a joint session of the state House and Senate in Harrisburg, State Representative Mark Gillen from Berks/Lancaster responded with a statement.

Gillen emphasized his support for "a balanced budget with no new taxes that addresses the elimination of school property taxes as a primary revenue source for educating our students." He highlighted his past votes for adequate school funding while stressing the importance of ensuring Pennsylvanians' security in their homes.

"We need to fashion the state budget in a way that adequately funds our schools without displacing elderly citizens and working families from their homes," Gillen stated.

Representative Mark Gillen serves the 128th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. For media inquiries, contact Dan Massing at 717.772.9845.
