A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Reading Officers & Employees Retirement System on September 20, 2024. The request was made by Berks County News, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The FOIA request sought records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, specifically seeking information about the pension fund rosters for active and retired employees for the year of 2023. The requested data fields included last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, employer name, employment start date, employment end date, salary, compensation type, amount, year, process date, last disbursement amount, disbursement frequency and 2023 contribution amount.
