Jozwiak Announces Retirement

Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) has announced his intention to retire at the end of his current term in December. Jozwiak has had a long and distinguished career in public service, spanning nearly 50 years.

In a statement, Jozwiak expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Berks County. He stated, "It has been both an honor and pleasure to serve the people of Berks County through the years." He also outlined his priorities for the remainder of his term, which include helping residents of the 5th District solve state-related problems, creating jobs, seeking tax reform, defending the Constitution, and supporting veterans, first responders, and law enforcement.

Jozwiak has a wealth of experience in public service. Before serving as a member of the General Assembly, he was the sheriff of Berks County for 12 years and a member of the Pennsylvania State Police for 25 years. He is also a U.S. Navy veteran, a past Bern Township supervisor, and past president of the Pennsylvania Sheriffs' Association.

Throughout his career, Jozwiak has been committed to improving the lives of Pennsylvanians. He has authored and sponsored a wide variety of legislation aimed at achieving this goal. Additionally, he has helped thousands of people in his district with state-related issues and has secured millions of dollars in funding for infrastructure projects in townships and boroughs.

Currently, Jozwiak serves as the Republican chairman of the House Children and Youth Committee in the General Assembly. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and has been a strong advocate for family farms and the important role they play in the state's economy.

Jozwiak and his wife, Margie, reside in Bern Township and have one daughter and two grandchildren.

Jozwiak's retirement marks the end of a remarkable career of public service. He has dedicated his life to serving the people of Berks County and has made a lasting impact on the community. As he prepares to step down, his legacy of hard work and dedication will undoubtedly be remembered.
