The Reading Eagle published its annual article regarding municipal property taxes showing 18 municipalities raised taxes in 2023, which is an increase from 12 in 2022.
South Heidelberg has maintained its General Fund Tax rate since 2017 (6 straight years). As noted in the article the overall mill rates may differ as many municipalities do not have a fire tax or ambulance tax to support the local fire and ambulance companies.
Below is a link to the article and also attached is a graphic showing the tax rate for South Heidelberg and neighboring municipalities. Our Board of Supervisors and Staff continue to work diligently to contain costs while providing high quality services for our taxpayers.
