Each year, before creating my annual holiday message, I wait to see the artwork selected for BASD's holiday card. This year, things worked out a bit differently. I had an article due to the Superintendent's Forum in The Reading Eagle last Friday. The article is set to be in today’s edition of the paper and ended up saying everything I wanted to say, not only for the piece but for all my family, friends, and school community.
Similarly, Jack didn't design his artwork specifically for the district's holiday card. He created his artwork as a gift for the Boyertown Multi-Service and Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Yurkovich's art students created holiday greetings for the seniors throughout our community. Jack's card was selected as this year's district holiday card before the newspaper article was written AND before I decided to use the piece as my holiday message. It's funny how things turn out. His artwork was created as the perfect representation of a "gift for every season!"
