Recent antisemitism is topic of 2022 Leo Camp lecture – Nov. 16

The 42nd annual Leo Camp memorial lecture at Albright College will explore recent “Rising antisemitism and the attacks on democracy: what’s at stake for the diaspora Jewish communities in the U.S. and overseas.” Sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Reading, the 2022 event in Albright Theatre is free and open to the public: Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.

Presenter Ira Forman will discuss modern antisemitism and what is at stake for Jewish communities around the world – in the wake of public anti-Semitic remarks by Kanye West on social media and in interviews, the suspension of basketball star Kyrie Irving, and threats to New Jersey synagogues.

Forman is the senior advisor for combatting antisemitism at Human Rights First, and a senior fellow at the Moment Institute. He was formerly special envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism in the U.S. Department of State.

The Jewish Federation of Reading is the planning, coordinating, and fundraising arm of the local Jewish community. The federation raises and allocates funds in support of many vital national and international Jewish organizations. The organization also publishes Jewish media, hosts leadership programs and trips to Israel.
