68 percent of applicants to Alvernia University were admitted for fall 2018

At Alvernia University, 71 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 70 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Reading enrolled 2,792 students in fall 2018, including 2,196 in undergraduate and 596 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

71 percent of undergraduates are residents of Pennsylvania, and 29 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (68 percent) and Black or African American (12 percent).

The school admitted 68 percent of the 2,628 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 24 percent enrolled.
