Reading Hospital was recognized on Apr. 6 for the fourth consecutive year on Newsweek’s ‘World’s Best Hospitals 2026’ list. The recognition highlights the ongoing commitment of the hospital’s physicians, nurses, clinicians, and staff to providing expert and compassionate care.
The inclusion on this international ranking is significant as it reflects not only clinical excellence but also patient experience and innovation in care delivery. This achievement positions Reading Hospital among leading medical institutions worldwide.
“With two decades of experience as a trauma center, the addition of a comprehensive stroke program, and a laser focus on our patient experience outcomes, we continue to grow stronger,” said Charles F. Barbera, MD, Reading Hospital president and CEO. “We’ve expanded our physician team with the addition of specialists in cardiology, surgery, and oncology so we now have the largest medical staff in Reading Hospital’s history. Our experience speaks for itself and demonstrates what makes our team and the care we provide truly exceptional.”
Newsweek partnered with Statista to select hospitals based on four main data sources: recommendations from tens of thousands of medical experts across 32 countries; results from patient satisfaction surveys; hospital quality metrics such as treatment outcomes and safety measures; and an optional survey about Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) implementation.
The final ranking includes hospitals from countries chosen according to factors like standard of living, population size, number of hospitals, life expectancy rates, and data availability. The United States is among these selected nations.
Reading Hospital said its continued presence on this list demonstrates its dedication to high-quality care for patients.
